Go, Calgary!
Yesterday - tshirts and flip flops. Today - Extreme snowfall warning.

Alrighty - looking for advice from photo-type folks.
Our Variable Pay comes in mid February (it’s like yearly bonus based on both how the company is doing and how your personal reviews have been. Both are very very good this year)
My baseline is 15% of my salary and I scored high enough that I may get more than that.
SO! Lights… I want lights. I’ve always considered myself...

This boggles my brain - this woman lived in three different centuries. Probably the last thing anyone ever considered when she was born.
Geez, it’s 1:30am and I’m just opening today’s mail (it was our Anniversary so we were out for the night - and yes, he’s sleeping I’m not. lol I have tomorrow off and he doesn’t but we’re going away for the weekend)
Anyway, I digress. Opening my mail and my book “The 50 Greatest Photo Opportunities in San Francisco” arrived! We’ll be...
Can’t wait - my old boss and I are heading up to Banff next weekend to just hang out and take some pictures. She’s got a new Rebel and dying to learn how to use it and I just love spending weekends in Banff :)

Our person who permanently works the over night shift, monday - thursday is sick again. Just got off a 2 hour call with a work mate covering for her tonight and my boss. Looks like I’ll be working the over night for the rest of the week.
I’m ok with that - overnights never bugged me as I’m more of a night person than anything.
Just finished rebuilding the rotating schedule...

I finally got to the Yann Haute Patisserie today while I had to run the boy out to an appointment - only took me five tries.
The first time I didn’t realize they weren’t open Mondays. The other tries they were closed as they close early and can close daily when sold out (talk about fresh pastery!)
I bought 28 various Macarons - oh my. I did the great Macaron Hunt the last time that...

It’s -22C here so I’m feeling kind of housebound and bored. Loaded up the RAW files for some pictures from October into Lightroom and played around a bit. I’m not a big one for post processing so this is really outside of my comfort levels - going to start posting some now.

Passenger train toilets - Wikipedia →
Don’t even ask how i stumbled across this - however, we used to travel a lot by train in the 70’s (in sleeper cars for multiple days) and Via Rail in Canada sure enough flushed the toilets directly onto the moving tracks.
I can recall me and my brother having a great time with this as most, if not all of them, if you held down the leaver you could see the tracks rushing by.
I do...
Yay! Got our dates for San Francisco this year - I’ll be heading there the end of March.
The first year we did all the tourist things. Last year, I checked out some other areas and did “cheap eats” rather than all the seafood places (mmmm, chicken and waffles).
Now I need to start making plans for this year! I know I want to actually cross the Golden Gate - I made it ON it...

Target is finally coming to Canada.
Now I have to wonder, what’s left that’s unique when travelling to the U.S. anymore :(
We got Wal-Mart, now Target, and hell, our dollar is worth more right now.
There used to be an odd excitement when driving over the border crossing and heading to a store that we didn’t have with products we couldn’t get. We’ve noticed the...
3:30 am I should get to bed, I have an 18.5 hour shift tomorrow (today?). Seriously. Working my normal 8 hours, 11-7 then have two whole whopping hours off and work 9pm-6:30am.
No, not the norm - our night shift person is sick and we’re struggling to fill her week. Hell, I’m usually up until 4am anyway, what’s another 2 hours? I get 10.5 hours of over time and Friday off

What’s the best thing about working the 1pm-9pm shift? it’s almost 4am and I’m just shutting down World of Warcraft (I know…geek…) and can STILL get 8 hours sleep before work.
This shift was made for idiots like me who just never know when to go to bed >.<
Dear God, My prayer for 2011 is for a fat bank account and a thin body. Please don’t mix these up like last year. Amen
